Our client is a market leader within its field and their products have a worldwide reach. They are now looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to enhance their current team. This position would suit an individual who has a blended skill set within design and manufacturing.
THE ROLE:
Reporting directly to the Design & Development Manager, the successful candidate will be an accomplished and professional Design and Process Engineer. This individual will also work closely with company Management and other key staff members as an integral part of the Design & Development team.
The successful candidate will be a proactive and visible figure in our workplace, providing high-level advice and assistance in:
Design and development of automotive accessories
Creation, editing and maintenance of CAD/Drawings in Solidworks and AutoCAD programs.
Close liaising with Key Customers, vehicle manufacturers, suppliers and our company's Production team to ensure new developments, enhancements and refinements are implemented seamlessly.
Developing and maintaining CAD Administration systems.
Desktop publishing assignments, central to the Design team's efforts to enhance the presentation of company products.
Creating and maintaining fitting instructions for company products.
Design verification to comply with applicable Australian Design Rules, manufacturer’s Body Building Guidelines and other regulatory requirements.
Structural assessments using FEA / CAE Analysis tools.
Extracting and analyzing bulk data for business improvement activities.
About You
Recent work experience in a comparable Design/Process Engineer role.
Previous experience in automotive manufacturing environments will be highly regarded.
Verifiable experience in preparing PPAP, QMS, DFMEA, PFMEA, PSW documentation, product development and testing procedures will also be highly regarded.
Experience with designing products of different materials, such as aluminum (extrusions & castings), sheet metal development, weldments, and plastics (injection/extrusion/blow/rotation moulding) will also be highly regarded.
Verifiable experience and conversance in PDM Administration.
Previous experience with FEA Analysis using Solidworks Professional.
A developed knowledge base and conversance with ADR, VSB, NVHR laws and regulations.
High level MS Excel and other database software skills.
Outstanding communication and team collaboration skills, with particular focus on building open, positive stakeholder relationships.
A willingness to travel interstate occasionally for short periods, to satisfy key project requirements.
Candidates must be available for work Monday to Friday, between 8:00am to 5:00pm.
